Don’t sweat those warnings about high protein diets.
Downing a protein shake as a meal replacement won’t hurt you, a nutrition journal study found.
Overweight people who had a shake as a meal at least daily for a year saw no adverse changes in liver or kidney function, bone mineral density or calcium excretion.
The effects may apply to fit people as well.
So, if you need to take that shake to fill in the gap – don’t worry too much about taking in too much protein, you probably didn’t consume enough for the day anyway.
